Bangla-Run!
Tomáš Poláček, an adventurer and journalist for Reporter magazine, decided to cross Bangladesh in March 2019. If you know him, you know that Tomas has already had some crazy experiences from his hitchhiking around the world. This one, however, was unique. Namely, his run helped 92 children from the Chalantika slum. Thanks to his challenge, he managed to raise 206,260 CZK!
Thomas had to run a total of 550 km in 13 days through Bangladesh. He ran almost a marathon every day! He regularly shared his experiences, insights and current state of mind on social media and on the pages of Reporter magazine. He described the different culture of Bangladeshis, how he almost suffocated in the smog and had to run with a veil, how he spent a night in the slum of Chalantika or the friendly nature of Bangladeshis.
Tomas saw with his own eyes the conditions in which children grow up in Bangladesh. He won your heart with his "crazy" run and helped spread awareness that we, on the other side of the world, can help the children of Bangladesh. We may not be able to change the world, but we can change the world for 92 children.
